Alexis began working with dancer Eiko Otake as a student at Wesleyan. Their dance films and video installation collaborations for Eiko’s, A Body in Placeshave been shown at Danspace Project, Dance for Camera Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, River To River Festival, and Portland Institute of Contemporary Art. Alexis’s own video installation about the Očeti Sakowin water protector camp (on Standing Rock Sioux territory), Recursion 1 & 2, was included in Eiko’s 2017 March 11 Fukushima memorial at the Cathedral. Their performances together have been presented by the Cathedral, Temple University, and American Dance Festival.
